We have this pre-sleep routine every night since she can speak. So by now Sufi know by heart what to do and recites before sleep. It's a matter of time for Sara to follow along :)
Lepas minum susu, gosok gigi and then she'll go to pee. Then drink a glass of plain water and finally recites these Surah/Doa sebelum baring tidur:-
1- ayatul Qursi
2- Al-Kafirun
3- Al-ikhlas
4- Al-Falaq
5- Al-Nas
6- Al-Fatihah
7- Doa nak tidur
8- Syahadah (mengucap) dan maknanya
9- Salawat x 3 times
7- the 7 Bismillah
and then she'll salam us ibu ayah and minta maaf from us if there's any wrong thing she did that day and we also apologize to her if there's any way we taught her that hurt her feelings. Finally we'll give her big tight hug + kisses and tell her we love her so much and how amazing she is to us before she sleeps.
Bukan senang nak get her to always tag along doing that thing we called "adab tidur". Orang tua pun kadang malas nak baca those on the list and rather terus berdengkur, inikan pulak kanak-kanak. So there were times we try to understand and tolerate when she's really tired like nak angkat mata pun tak larat so she'll just baca doa sebelum tidur tu and mengucap. Sometimes she gets to Salawat before doze off. I really want her to understand the reason we're doing it, the benefits and i want her to love doing it. Like it's gonna be a routine coming from her heart. InsyaAllah.
Recently secara tak sengaja i watched this Robin Sharma's YouTube video. Then i fell in love with his ideas and teaching. Later on, I've watched his podcasts as well. So antara idea-ideanya yang sangat menginspirasikan tu, dia ada sembang pasal tips macamana nak besarkan anak-anak yang hebat dan turut berkongsi script yang "dimantrakan" dengan anak-anak beliau setiap malam in bedtime iaitu
1- whatever you do, do it well
2- whatever you want to be, be it
3- Never give up
4- Always remember how much Daddy loves you
I know how important the seeds of words that we plant into our children's ears (mind) waktu diaorang nak tidur.
Skrip tu aku ubah sikit but no less beneficial:
Then after that ajak dia ingat + sebut apa 3 perkara best hari ni yang buat dia happy dan berterima kasih kat Allah. Nak tanam habit sentiasa bersyukur.
Ameen..
Now dia dah tidur nyenyak. Sara pun sama.
And during moment like this memang perasaan dalam hati tu bercampur time tengok muka diaorang yang tengah nyenyak tidur. Muka yang suci tanpa dosa. Muka kepenatan lepas "kembara-kembara kecil" diaorang waktu siang.
Yang petah & bijak bombarding us with her "why, what, how' questions and now mostly 'can i?'
